Why don’t the Shaolin or the Ninjutsu masters fight in Vale Tudo or U.F.C?

I don’t intend to insult the Shaolin or the Ninjutsu masters. But I just wonder why don’t they participate in tournaments like Vale Tudo or U.F.C? I guess I read somewhere that someone said "Why don’t they prove that they are very good at U.F.C?" Shoalin kung fu and Ninjitsu are both martial arts. UFC is a [...]

What is the name of the song in the Tapout Redux Pit fight commercial?

It is very ethereal with female chanting. Somewhat sounds like a Hindu or Arabic chant. I really like this style, and I would love to know what the song’s name is. Okay. I found the video, and at the end it says "Music: Silvia Nakkach". There is a CD on amazon.com that features [...]

Why Are There So Many Pro-Sprawl Answerers In This Section?

If you’re trying to improve your cardio, just doing *any* cardio routine won’t help your MMA training. Cardiovascular endurance is activity-specific, meaning that to improve an activity, it’s best to work through that specific activity. [...]

KickBoxing?

Has anyone gotten good results, as far as weight loss goes, by doing kickboxing? Absolutely. All the body movement involved usually results in a weightloss all around, not just in one spot. I’ve been doing it for half a year twice a week for an hour and it’s been amazing.

How to clean a Judo/grappling mat without ruining it?

Today for the first time I began using a judo/grappling type mat for home practice. I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to keep it clean (and bacteria free) without ruining it. I have almost 2 decades of martial arts training but this on hard wood floors so using a mat is pretty [...]
